Well hello there.

My name is Blake Haney and I am an entrepreneur currently based below sea level in New Orleans. These projects below vary in scope and focus. With each, I provide help with design, content, strategy, and when I can, humor.

My goal is to always help build companies that have a positive impact on their communities.

Reach out if you wish to pitch me an idea for collaboration.

  • Locally.com

In anticipation of changes in consumer behavior, Locally was founded in 2014 by myself, Mike Massey and Ben Hirsch. We saw that shoppers were increasingly turning to internet-connected devices for decision-making and that local stores, the brands they carry, and on-hand inventory were invisible to nearby shoppers. So we built a solution.

Today, we help thousands of stores present their real-time inventory to nearby shoppers using e-commerce tactics and we provide users with novel last-mile fulfillment options like in-store pickup and same-day delivery.

  • Dirty Coast

I started Dirty Coast in 2004 to up the ante on what was passing for local apparel in New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina, our work took on new gravity as the city rallied around shared symbols and a renewed sense of pride. Now—more than 15 years later—we’ve evolved along with our city, becoming both a tourist destination and a local favorite. Our shirts are secret handshakes, game day standards, and Mardi Gras uniforms. They venerate our icons, promote our causes, and celebrate our way of life.

    SianaHouse.com

A vehicle to help me publish some of my own ideas and those of collaborators. Starting small and hope to grow the catalog into magazines, books, vinyl and art prints.

  • Screens For Good

This started as a one-time fundraising project that then became its own company. Screens for Good works with local non-profits, musicians, and small businesses. We donate our team’s design time to turn merchandise into fundraising and awareness tools.

  • Dinosaur Facts With Julian

When my 8-year-old son asked about podcasts and how to launch one we jumped into gear and now bring you Dinosaur Facts with Julian. An absolute blast with my son and great way to work on my audio and editing chops.

  • 100 Men Hall

What started as an organizing group for the African American community grew into an open-air pavilion. Then, in 1922, a cornerstone was laid and the existing Hall was built. At that time, segregation forced Black musicians into a narrow yet robust performance corridor called "the chitlin circuit," an historic network of performance spaces that eventually put the Hall on the Mississippi Blues Trail map.

It is now a non-profit that hosts multi-cultural events, and educational camps, and hosts artists in residence. I serve as Board President.

  • Querrius.com

An experiment in using AI tools that are in their infancy in 2023. I made a collection of images using the Knowlling prompt in MidJourney 5. I combined these images with a narrative voice in ChatGPT 4 of an AI bot on the verge of consciousness that is curiously scanning all of human existence. I then published the content into a newsprint magazine.

I am very lucky to have in my life my wonderful wife Susan and my awesome kid Julian. He is also my podcast co-host.

Together we have a menagerie of pets – 2 dogs, a cat, 3 mice and 20 fish last we counted.

I live in the tree streets of New Orleans.
