Behemoth Ventures

Well, hello there.

I'm Blake Haney. The projects below vary in scope and focus. With each, I bring design, content, strategy, and — when I can — humor.

My goal is to help build companies and launch projects with a positive impact on my community — and sometimes I just want an idea to exist.

Projects

  • Listen To Your City

Capturing the soundscape of New Orleans across the four seasons with an ambisonic microphone. Edited together for a release on vinyl. In progress. Follow along.

  • The Nola Files

A collaboration with Nola Junto offering a 10,000-foot view of New Orleans — its systemic issues and the organizations working to move the city forward. thenolafiles.com.

  • Locally

Co-founded in 2014 with Mike Massey and Ben Hirsch. Locally helps thousands of stores show real-time inventory to nearby shoppers, with last-mile options like in-store pickup and same-day delivery. locally.com.

  • Dirty Coast

Started in 2004 to up the ante on local apparel in New Orleans. After Katrina, the work took on new gravity. Two decades in, the shirts are still secret handshakes, game day standards, and Mardi Gras uniforms. dirtycoast.com.

  • Bending The River

A podcast on the past, present, and future of New Orleans. Conversations with creatives, writers, and researchers about how to redirect the city toward a more equitable future. Listen on Spotify.
